Building a 1967 Mustang Shelby tribute? This hood can also be used on a 1967 Mustang when paired with the appropriate 1968 fiberglass front-end components.

Because the 1968 Shelby-style front-end configuration differs from the standard 1967 Mustang sheet metal, proper component matching is important. This is not intended as a simple stock 1967 hood replacement without the required 1968-style fiberglass parts.

Fiberglass Construction

This hood is manufactured from high-quality automotive grade fiberglass for a combination of classic Shelby styling and reduced weight compared with a conventional steel hood.

Fiberglass body panels require preparation and fitting during installation. Depending on the individual vehicle and combination of components being used, additional fitting, trimming, bodywork, or modification may be necessary to achieve the desired panel gaps and final finish.

For the best results, professional body-shop installation is recommended.

Important Installation Information

Fiberglass hoods are different from original steel Mustang hoods.

Always inspect and properly prepare the hood before final installation and paint. Test-fit the hood with the complete front-end assembly before performing final bodywork.

We strongly recommend using hood pins with fiberglass hoods for additional security. Fiberglass is substantially lighter than the original steel hood, so stock hood-hinge springs may not be appropriate for every fiberglass hood application.

Proper hood alignment, latch adjustment, hinge setup, and additional reinforcement should be evaluated during installation.
