This custom Recess Plate allows the installation of a 71 Mach 1 Style Fuel Cap into the Mustang Fastback Quarter Panel. The recess plate in the kit is designed to give the Mach 1 fuel cap a lower profile and sleek look when installed on the quarter panel and when viewing the quarter panel from all angles. The recess plate also allows for full operation of the fuel cap door release lever and provides a nice even gap around the fuel cap perimeter. No need to waste many hours to try and fabricate a recess on your own! Kit also comes with hardware and gasket to seal the base to the filler neck tube.

Special Notes
This kit is designed to be installed by a professional body shop. The recessed plate will require welding to install into a 65 66 67 or 68 Fastback quarter panel. Also, some modifications may be required to the internal structure of the quarter panel and or filler tube depending on the exact placement the installer chooses of the cap plate on the exterior quarter panel.
PLEASE NOTE: This recess plate is approximately 5.75 inches in diameter and .75 inches deep. The filler pipe has a 2.25 Inch Outer Diameter.
