1965 Mustang Convertible – Classic Styling with Modern Upgrades
This 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible has served as one of our test vehicles for new product development, aftermarket component installations, and classic Mustang upgrades. Powered by a 5.0L 302 V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission, this Mustang blends traditional first-generation Mustang styling with custom details and modern aftermarket enhancements.
One of the standout features is our unique and exclusive Mustang styling bar kit, complete with custom inner rear quarter panels. The rear styling is further enhanced with Scott Drake billet taillight bezels and a billet fuel cap, giving the classic Mustang tail light area a more customized and contemporary appearance.
Up front, the convertible features a polished billet grille paired with the original-style grille surrounds. A 1965–1966 Shelby-style hood with a single scoop adds an aggressive performance-inspired look, complemented by a billet hood pin kit.
Inside, the Mustang maintains a comfortable yet distinctly classic feel with 1965–1966 Mustang Pony (Deluxe Interior) components and woodgrain dash inserts. For added comfort, an under-dash air conditioning system from Old Air Products delivers cool air during even the hottest summer drives.
Completing the exterior are 17-inch Voxx Old School wheels finished in classic Gunmetal Gray, providing the perfect combination of vintage-inspired styling and modern wheel design.
This 1965 Mustang Convertible showcases how classic Ford Mustang styling can be enhanced with carefully selected aftermarket parts, custom accessories, and modern comfort upgrades while preserving the timeless character of the original Mustang.

The engine bay has been cleaned up with shaved shock towers, smoothed inner panels, and hidden engine wiring. Power comes from a 302 V8 with dual cold air intakes, backed by a modern T-5 transmission.
The custom interior features a smoothed and modified dashboard, custom billet aluminum gauge cluster, modern air conditioning, and leather upholstery. This Mustang perfectly blends classic styling with modern performance, comfort, and custom craftsmanship.
