This Pertronix Contour starter is an excellent option when you need a clean looking starter that has the ability to be Clocked or rotated 360 Degrees to improve clearances with the exhaust or other critical components in the engine bay. This starter will work in a Classic 65-73 or Later Model Mustang (up to 2001) with a small block Ford engine. The starter combines excellent sleek looks with the contoured aluminum casing that will not only look good but help to protect the internal components of the starter from the road elements and high heat from your engine. This Pertronix starter will pack a good punch and features a High-Power Nippondenso motor with a 4.4:1 Gear ratio and over 200 lb-ft of torque for which works well with high compression engines too.  This starter will fit with an Automatic or 5 Speed Manual Transmission that uses a 157 Tooth (normally used in the 5 speeds) or 164 Tooth Flywheel. It will replace an OEM style starter that has a nose that extends 2-3/8 inches past the mounting surface. This starter has a BLACK Powder Coated aluminum case.
