Weld-in Recessed Fuel Cap Plate, Designed to work with Mach 1 Style Caps and Classic Mustangs
Recessed Fuel Cap Plate allows the installation of the 71 Mach 1 Styled Flip open Fuel Cap into the Fastback Quarter Panel in a Classic 67-68 and also 65-66 Mustang. This recess plate is designed to give the Mach 1 fuel cap a lower profile sleek look when viewing the quarter panel from all angles. The recess plate also allows for full operation of the fuel cap door release lever and provides a nice even gap around the fuel cap perimeter. Comes with hardware and gasket to seal the base to the filler neck tube.

Special Notes
This kit is designed to be installed by a professional body shop. The recess plate will require welding & body work to install into a 67 or 68 Fastback upper quarter panel. Can also be installed on the flat spot of the 65-66 Mustang fastback quarter panel as well. Also, some modification may be required to the internal structure of the quarter panel and or filler tube depending on the placement of the cap plate.
