67-68 Mustang Fastback Roof Drip Rail Set, Steel, Weld Through Primer

DI-3643XDWT

1967 - 68 Mustang Fastback Roof Drip Rails, In Weld Through Primer welds to side of Fastback Roof

This pair of OEM-style reproduction drip rail channels for the 1967 and 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback roof are designed to weld to the A-Pillar, Roof and B-Pillar of the classic Mustang fastback. Whenever you are replacing your Mustang fastback roof because of rust or other damage, it is likely you will need to pick-up a set of these roof drip rail channels as well to complete the project. These help to finish off the door opening on the fastback and finish the replacement roof install with the correct ridge to attach the stainless steel roof rail channel moldings. They will run along your fastback's roof line and door window jams. Each channel follows the front A-pillar, along the roof line and down the rear of the door widow opening. You may also want to look at your Mustangs Stainless steel seal channels and also replace your Mustang's roof weatherstrip while you are doing the repairs.

Special Notes

1967 1968 Mustang Fastback Roof Drip Rails in Weld-Through Primer. These are the metal drip rail pieces that will weld to the roof of your 67 or 68 Mustang fastback and help to complete the installation of a replacement roof. They finish the door window openings and allow for the Stainless steel moldings and door window seals and molding to properly install. PLEASE NOTE: These are NOT the stainless steel drip rail moldings, these are the metal pieces that the stainless steel moldings attach to.

Advantages of Weld-Through Primer Sheet Metal Parts:
- Reduces preparation time when welding new parts to new parts that are both covered in the weld through primer
- Reduced spatter when welding
- Lower distortion of the panels
- Superior conductive properties that help minimize high heat zone problems
- Eliminates corrosion that would form between overlapped panels or multi-layered spot welds
- Helps when welding a new panel to old metal parts
- Lower resistance at the weld surface allows better penetration into the denser, new steel that helps forgive an old alloy's problems with porosity and impurities
- Helps prevent resin build up between welds that can trap moisture in the old porous steel that leads to failure at the weld borders
