1964 - 1970 Mustang Detroit Speed Weld In Subframe Connector Kit

The uniquely designed Detroit Speed weld in subframe connectors increase your classic Mustang's stiffness by connecting the front frame rails to the rear frame rails. This is extremely important when you add a higher horsepower engine to your classic Mustang. The factory Mustang unibody was never designed to handle the high horsepower loads and stresses of today's Modern high horsepower engines. When you install these connectors it will increase the rigidity of your old Mustang's unibody and allow the front and rear suspensions to perform as intended without excessive flexing and twisting from the classic Mustang unibody. We always recommend installing sub-frame connectors to improve the rigidity of any old Classic Mustang when upgrading the suspension and/or drive train. These sub-frame connectors are fabricated from 1.5” x 2.5” x 0.083” wall rectangular steel tubing.

The subframe connectors include front frame rail saddles and end caps for added strength and stiffness. Unlike other subframe connector kits on the market, these Detroit Speed (DSE) subframe connectors are hardly visible from side when looking underneath your Mustang giving you the maximum amount of ground clearance which you are not able to get with some other bolt-on kits. The rear of the frame connector attaches to the DSE torque boxes that come with the Mustang QUADRALink 4 Link rear suspension kit or the Mustang Leaf spring Mini-Tub Kit. These weld-in connectors are bent and TIG welded in a fixture for accuracy and repeat-ability.

These subframe connectors will not interfere with seat attachment hardware or the installation and removal of the rear leaf spring pocket. The DSE subframe connectors can also be installed on convertibles. Additionally, the interior molded factory carpet will still fit over the subframe connectors. These weld-in connectors will also include the templates and detailed instructions for your installation

IMPORTANT INSTALL NOTE: If not installing the Mustang QUADRALink™ you will need to purchase the DSE torque boxes.
