The 2011 and newer Mustangs came equipped from the factory with the durable 6R80 transmission. This transmission quickly became the workhorse for most F-150's and other rear wheel drive vehicles. Oversized clutch packs along with a durable gear set allows this transmission to handle some reasonable power when managed correctly. Performance Automatic is the first company to offer the 6R80 trans in a stand alone configuration.
