Special Notes

Steering Box Rebuild Kit for LATE 67-70 Mustang with a 1-1/8 Inch Diameter sector shaft (output shaft).

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a 67 Mustang if is important you check the Sector shaft diameter. This is because many of the EARLY 67 Mustangs had the smaller 1 inch sector shaft. Then, mid-year Ford changed over to the steering box with a LARGER 1-1/8 Inch Sector shaft diameter. The sector shaft is the lower output shaft coming out of the steering box that connects to the Pitman Arm.

Throughout the many years of using your 67-70 Classic Mustang's Steering box, it can become worn-out and the internal mechanisms can wear to the point it makes the steering feel sloppy. Then it also becomes difficult to keep your Mustang going down the road in the direction you want it to, without constantly having to steer to go straight and keep in your lane. A worn-out steering box can make your Mustang more of a chore to drive and less enjoyable to drive. We offer this steering box re-build kit by Scott Drake to help tighten up your Mustang's old steering box. This kit is designed for boxes with the 1-1/8 inch sector shaft, so please make sure to check your Boxes sector shaft diameter before ordering.
