Scott Drake now offers their own brand of new and improved steering boxes for the early 64-67 Mustangs. These boxes a sporty and quick 16:1 ratio which translates into a very responsive and precise steering system. The new box all features an improved needle bearing design for smoother turning operation. This direct bolt in design requires no modifications or core charge. This steering box also comes with a full 1 year warranty. The Drake 1964-1967 steering boxes feature the exclusive solid shaft design just like the originals and will work with the EARLY 67 Mustang that has the 1" Diameter sector shaft and long steering shaft in the column. Replace your old worn out sloppy and slow Mustang steering box and make your Mustang more fun to drive!

Special Notes
The 16:1 steering ratio of this reproduction box is the same ratio used on all high performance mustangs (GT, “K” car, Shelby, Mach 1 and Boss models). Power steering cars also feature the 16:1 ratio. However, most of these boxes are worn out after 45+ years of service and are not re-buildable. These new reproduction boxes eliminate play in the steering wheel, hesitation and wandering. It also will improve high speed tracking and an overall sense of control. This is also an excellent upgrade for any regular production Mustang with manual steering and that has a slower 20:1 ratio.
IMPORTANT INSTALL NOTE: Only fits early 1967 with 1" sector shaft coming out of box AND with the long full length steering shaft that goes all the way up through the column.
