The Conversion Box Is A Re-manufactured Modern Integral Power Steering Gearbox. It Provides True Modern Power Steering Feel, Feedback And Sporty 14:1 Ratio. Fits 289, 302, 351W V8 Engines in 64, 65 and 66 Classic Mustang. This kit will Convert your stock OE Non-Power Steering To a New Integral Power Steering Box system. The Conversion Steering Box is a Re-manufactured Modern Integral Power Steering Gearbox. It Provides True Modern Power Steering Feel, Feedback And Sporty 14:1 Ratio. With this new system, your upgraded power steering will be crisp, responsive and will NOT have all the extra play in the steering wheel common in the original style power steering system that utilizes a external Hydraulic ram and leaky control valve system! With this system, you will keep the Non-Power Center Link and inner and outer tie rods, there is nothing more to change! However, keep in mind, it is a good idea to check your stock tie rod ball joints and all bushings in your system to make sure they are in good shape, if they are not, they should be replaced when performing this power steering conversion.

The kit comes with a MODERN Steering Box that has been re-manufactured to bolt directly to the factory mounting location and to fit the stock pitman arm without any interference or modification of the shock tower. It provides true modern power steering feel, feedback and sporty 14:1 quick steering ratio box.

Technical Notes

Note: 1965-67 Mustangs will require replacing steering column shaft. A replacement shaft is included with the kit and will work with 1967 Mustangs that have the EARLY 67 Steering column that is like the 66 Mustang column with NO rag joint. Will not fit manual transmission cars with factory equalizer bar. If you have a factory equalizer bar, you will need to purchase our modified equalizer bar below for installation. Also, non-A/C cars will need to have a double groove crank pulley to run power pump. 
**Due to the fact that there are 8 possible kits for 1967, some will cross-over to listed kits, and others are available as special order. So, if you have a 67 Mustang, please call us so we can make sure to get you the correct parts.**
