Early 1967 Mustang Quick Ratio Steering Box 16:1, Improved Design, Short Shaft

C7ZZ-3548-P

Quick Ratio Steering Box 16:1 for 1967 Mustang, Early Style, Short Input Shaft

Quick Ratio Steering Box 16:1 for Early 1967 Mustang with smaller 1 Inch Sector Shaft and has the SHORT input shaft from the steering column. If you have a 67 Mustang, please measure the pitman arm to see if you have the 1-inch sector shaft, also check the connection at the column as this one uses the SHORT input shaft which means the input shaft does NOT go all the way from the box and through to the top of the column. This new box features a more precision bearing design for improved steering response and smoothness. New box and does not require a core or a core charge!

Special Notes

Scott Drake now offers their own brand of new steering boxes. Their all-new Steering boxes for Classic Mustangs feature the following

  • Quick 16:1 ratio for a very responsive and precise steering system, excellent upgrade over the original  20:1 Ratio Manual Steering boxes
  • I much-improved needle bearing design for smoother operation.
  • Direct bolt-on design requires no modifications or core charge to hassle with
  • 1-year Manufacturer's Warranty.

The 16:1 ratio of these new Steering boxes by Scott Drake is the same ratio used on all high-performance mustangs (GT, “K” car, Shelby, Mach 1, and Boss models). Power steering cars also feature the performance 16:1 ratio. Most of these steering boxes are worn out after 50+ years of service and are not rebuildable.
Scott Drake’s new boxes eliminate play in the steering wheel, hesitation, and wandering. It improves high-speed tracking and an overall sense of control. This is also an excellent upgrade for regular production Mustangs with manual steering and a slower 20:1 ratio.

*INSTALLATION NOTE: Only fits EARLY 1967 Mustangs with 1" section and uses the short input shaft. If your 67 Mustang has the LONG input shaft that all the way up to the Steering Wheel (Solid 1 Piece Design), you should look at Part # C5ZZ-3548-P
